A therapeutic supportive group for teens to come together and learn how to recognize triggers that contribute to automatic negative thoughts which impact how they react to the world around them. As we know "kids listen to kids” therefore in this group teens will come together to hear and support one another while being walked through a cognitive-behavioral therapeutic process. Teens will learn how the brain works, the importance of cognitive restructuring and be empowered to know they have the ability to change.
Teens will learn and practice coping strategies such as team building, effective communication, journaling, mindfulness & meditation, yoga, stress management and the use of the arts to de-stress. Teens will also learn how food and nutrition impact their mental health.
This is a 6 week group that will meet on Jan 30th, Feb 6th, 13th, Feb 20th, March 6 and March 13th. March 20th (snow make up day) There is no group on Feb 27th due to school vacation week.
