School Consultation and Professional Development

Teachers, school counselors and administrators are often the first to notice when a student is struggling. Summit Counseling partners with New Hampshire schools to give staff practical, trauma-informed tools they can use the very next day.

Kate Ledoux, MA, LCMHC, CIMHP, spent more than 20 years as a school counselor in regular and special education before founding Summit Counseling. She is trained in EMDR through the EMDR Institute and holds a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP) certification. Her trainings bring the inside-the-building view of a school counselor together with a trauma-informed clinical lens. Workshops and consultation are shaped around your school’s needs, with topics such as:

• Trauma-informed classrooms: what stress and trauma look like in students, and how to respond

• Anxiety, panic and emotional regulation in kids and teens

• Attention, screens and the distracted brain

• Internet safety and digital risk: keeping students safe online, and how schools can respond (co-presented with John Smith)

• The mind–body connection: sleep, nutrition and movement in student mental health

• Staff wellbeing and preventing burnout

• Case consultation for school counselors and student support teams

Internet Safety & Digital Risk is co-presented with John Smith, who served 13 years as a School Resource Officer and has 15 years of experience in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) work. This training draws on John's professional experience and is not an official ICAC presentation.
